This song was written by Harry Nilsson, who performed it with John Lennon, and narrated by Dustin Hoffman in the movie entitled "The Point." Nilsson first conceived the original story of "The Point" in 1970, and received several awards in 1972 for it. He was a phenominal songwriter and singer, whose path I now understand. I would recommend you research Harry Nilsson, and perhaps learn something, just as I have done.
